Default Google Maps Not working on Storm

I can download and install the GM app just fine, but for some reason it is not responding to the touchscreen. I can't get it to respond to clicks or finger movement on the screen.

I know some people have mentioned that they have loaded the app and that they are having issues with the GPS, but I can't even get that far. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

GM is installed and seems to be running fine for me. I won't say that I have done too much, but it responds to gestures. I also won't say that the location is any better than on my 8830.

I would check out the GPS sticky on the top of this section.. people have been reporting that GM is not using the GPS and is using the triangulation like it did before. Someone mentioned that their *should* be a new version of GM that can support the storm's GPS.. which would make sense since GM came out before the storm did so it would be hard for them to link with a GPS that they never knew existed at the time..
