Why when I send my friend a sms does it show as a check mark with a little "D" (according to the book that is a "PIN message". WHat? What is a PIN message? I was just sending a normal text (sms) message.

Pin messaging is the same as blackberry messenger. In layman's terns, you are communicating blackberry to blackberry. Email is NOT involced. It is also data so you are not charged extra if you have an unlimited data plan. PIN messages are faster and more secure, as you will not find the message in your desktop emai since its not email.

D means it was delivered, R= Read, and the check mark just means your device sent it.
