Default SIM Card rejected

Hey everyone I'm new here I have the storm for verizon and the top of my screen it always reads SIM Card rejected. The phone works fine obviously I'm typing this from it but I was just wondering shouldn't it just say Verizon or something?

Yeah it will say that if you roam outside of verizon coverage and the phone connects to a gsm network. Power your phone off and back on again, it will disappear. You can replicate the message by going into your connection settings and selecting GSM only.

I have seen the "SIM Card Rejected" at the top of my phone three times now. It goes away when I do a battery pull... but what a PITA!

So I called Verizon... they understand that this is a software bug and assure me that the SIM Card is fine... and that for now I should go to <manage connections> <mobile network options> and under Network Technology make sure that 1XEV is chosen rather than Global...

This of course will have to be changed back when I go out of NA.

No problem with the error message since doing this... keeping my fingers crossed...
