Default Storm on another CDMA provider?

Please Login to Remove!

I am in Canada and use a small CDMA carrier known as MTS or Manitoba Allstream. I know it will be a looong time before they release the Storm. I was wondering if anyone has tried their Storm on another carrier which does not support the storm. What issues am I likely to run into? I use BES as well.

Thanks

Most CDMA carriers don't allow other carrier's devices on their networks. I'm sure the device would work fine but it's difficult to get past this carrier restriction.

So if I could get the carrier to activate it then it should work?

I agree with JC, both VZW and Sprint operate on the same frequency. If you can get Sprint to accept the ESN number on their network thats is half the battle. If I remember it correctly from my Palm days, you need to modify the OS on the VZW device to run on the Sprint network and the opposite is also true. In summary, you have two issues to resolve, first getting another CDMA carrier to accept the device on their network, and the other is hacking the OS (or the locked settings) to run on the other CDMA carrier's netowrk.
