| I have had the Storm for a week. I am holding my judgment until I have given it enough use. I remember my first Pearl, I hated it until I learned to use SureType. | | Offline

Man you make a great point.
People bash the good 'ol Storm but have not given it a chance. The device has not been out long enough to be great. The ijoke has been and it still is no where near solid. The only reason the ijunk was a sucess almost 2 years ago was cause there was no comp!! Its like entering a contest and you being the only contestant. Of course your taking home first place duh!
I personally HATE the iphone and will NEVER like it. Period. I bleed berry. | | Offline

| I'll say this about apple.
I have a touch, as does my wife, plus we have an ibook, imac, and a classic ipd 30gb. I've only had it for 2-3 months and I already have had 3 updates already. My imac has a firmware update at least 1-2 times a week or so (that may be because it has an intel processor?), and I've been a customer of apple for a little over 10 years.
The company's products are over rated, over priced, and software does cost more. They won't upgrade any devices, they make you, the customer, pay for their mistakes (faulty logic boards on ibook).
In my opinion they're an ultra pompous company! As a matter of fact I'm starting to wean my needs off of them because I'll be returning to the windows environment with an hp desktop or even something cheaper like an acer desktop.
With that being said you cannot deny the bar that they made all of the cell phone companies adhere to when it comes to cell phones! As far as the touch is concerned I only use it for music in my car; and the iphone, IMHO, is better suited for teenagers. I mean, my 9 year old son gets on the web with my touch, whereas I never use it because it's a thorn to type on.
Rim has been doing the cell phone thing for a while, so MY OPINION is they should've known better or used better judgement when it came to the storm.
It's like they tried to make the touchscreen different but made it cumbersome!
I'm still playing the "wait & see" game, and if it doesn't improve, I'll just get a 8900 or a bold (if and when they drop the price).

I enjoyed reading this post, because of all things Apple really did set the bar high with the launch of the iphone. They made a lot of cell manufactures step up there game, and even gave RIM the idea of jumping into the touch screen game (who'd have thought?) RIM will fix whats wrong with the Storm, they listen to there customers, and drop into forums like this to check the pulse on whats going on. Just a matter of time before all is well! | | Offline

| I own a Macbook, and I love it. I am not, however, swayed by the iPhone and the iPod touch. I think they're cool devices, but they're not for me. Simple does it.
I do own the Storm - and love it. I'm discovering that I actually really do enjoy SureType - who knew! I will admit that I've only had the Storm for a little over 60 hours now (if I'm adding correctly) so who knows if my view will be as rosy in a few days when I've had it for a week. Time will tell.

| I was very excited to get a Storm- I also enjoy technology, especially new technology. With this, I embraced the challenge of learning something new. This phone has been very different than any other phone I ever owned. Most of my issues with the phone at first was clearly "user" error. I needed to train my brain on how to use the thing effectively. It's not a iphone, it's not a Pearl or a Bold. It's a Storm- New, different and probably one of the best functional touch screen phones on the market currently. The phone is not perfect, but I trust many of the quirky issues will be fixed over the next few months, and they are not obstructing the general use of the phone. For all those who went out and had to buy the phone on the first day, week or month, you must be a pioneer in technology and accept the responsibility that comes along with that- embrace the challenge of learning something new, and help make it better for the future! | | Offline

| Today I turned on my HTC Touch for the first time in a week and a half. After using the Storm since the day it was released, the Touch felt very awkward to me. I'm really getting comfortable with the Storm, it's a great piece of hardware. I'm sure the little quirks with be fixed quickly. The BB OS just seems so efficient after the Windows mobile system. I'm glad I made the switch. | | Offline
