I need sure type and suggestions in portrait, but not so much in landscape. I think the suggestions it tries to bring up is slowing down the typing process too in landscape mode. It would be great to be able to turn off and test.

Do you mean the spellcheck box that comes up? That also annoys me but I haven't been able to find a way to turn it off. However, I discovered last night that if sometimes if you tap in the box you're typing in away from the suggestion, it can disappear. This does not always work for me, though.

ya, I guess that's what I mean. Ya, suretype is the name for the double letters on a single key app (which works SO much better than I expected...i'm faster one handed on this phone than the 8830)

if you go to options>spell check> and turn off SPELL CHECK AS YOU TYPE I think thats what your looking for.. hope it helps
