Default What's the best place to get 9530 to use on T-mobile?

Hello everyone,

I am on T-mobile and really want the storm! As I see it, my options are to get the storm at Best Buy for $599 + tax or ask my buddy who has Verizon to get one for me for $499 + tax at the Verizon store. Can anyone comment on which is a better way to go on terms of activation and warranty? I've read on this forum that some people had problem with Best Buy bought storm on t-mobile because the device was never activated. What about warranty? If I get it at Best Buy I'll have 30 days to return it, but what happens then? Do I have 1 year warranty through RIM or no?

Thanks for your opinions!

Wirelessly posted (bb8320TMO)

You asked this in the other BlackBerry™ forum and I doubt the answers here would be any different.

Thank you for pointing that out. Is there a rule about not cross posting on DIFFERENT forums that I am not aware of?

I generally have a personal rule. If I don't have anything relevant to post, I usually don't!

Have a good day

For people that are considering getting a discounted phone from Verizon and are not planning to stay with them, here is some info from a DIFFERENT forum (gosh, I hope I don't get in trouble for this ):

"I just picked up 2 storms yesterday from Best Buy and I specifically asked the same question knowing that I will cancel the service within 30 days and keep the phone at the same time. Keep in mind that I was talking to the store manager and not just a normal employee.

It would be as follows:

If you cancel within 30 days and return the phone = full refund for everything even for the minutes used with the exception of the activation fee.

if you cancel within 30 days and DID NOT return the phone = VZW pays for the minutes used. No ETF since you terminated before the 30 day guarantee period but Verizon will charge you $400 for each phone.

if you cancel between 31 to 180 days and DID NOT return the phone = you will get charged by VZW $400 for each phone + the $175 ETF for each line.

if you cancel after 181 days and DID NOT return the phone = VZW will only charge you the $175 ETF and the phone is yours to keep.

Hope this helps."
