I just upgraded to 4.7.0.75. Now I have a starred envelope notification on the top left of the screen saying i have two new messages. Only thing is I can't figure out what they're for. It's not text messages or pix messages, don't even have e-mail set up, and it's not any of the third-party apps I have installed. Does anyone have any idea what this could be a notification for? It's driving me nuts!

might be from rim to say your phone is registered on BIS i had them too. they should be in the messages folder. not sms and mms or email..but the thrd messages folder

battery pull should fix it..

I was thinking something like that too. How do I get to that folder though?

well i am saying battery pull because there really shouldnt be a folder at all.. i have had this done to me one time...

Sorry I was replying to the post above yours about the BIS message. I just tried a battery pull and the notification is still there.

you checked the message,mms,sms and all your email folders?

Yeah I went into SMS and MMS and checked all of the folders, including browser messages, SMS Sim card, missed calls, etc. Everything is read. I don't have an e-mail address set up (just use the gmail app). I have no idea what else it could be.

do you have one that just says messages? did you hide the messages folder?

Yep! That was it. I had hidden the messages app because I didn't use it. Went back in to the app and there they were. Thanks for everyone's suggestions!
