Default Roger Lococco's NOOB question thread

New to BlackBerry. Just got my Storm a few days ago. Absolutely love it. But also realize I don't yet have 10% of the user capability as most posters here.

Lots of questions. Thought I might keep them all to a single thread as I run into roadblocks. May help others who are new to BB as well.

In that context ...

Why does my BB lock and how can I get around that? I do not want to keep having to type in my password. Is this a BES issue?

Are you on a BES?

If so, you may have an IT Policy on the device. Go to Options > Security Options > General settings. what does it show at the bottom next to IT Policy?

Lists my company. Is this the issue? If so, I guess I understand as they don't want to create a risk if I lose the device. Am I correct in assuming there's no way to adjust the time-out?

Correct your employer is controlling that.

Next NOOB question ...

Can't figure out how to set speed dial or assign ringtones to individual phone numbers.
