Default Paper/Card Trick? - 12-07-2008, 11:20 AM

So Ive heard it mentioned before about slipping a peice of paper or card behind the battery door, but why? What does this do? And if I use paper how much paper?

There's another thread about this, but it fixes the softer/less responsive areas at the lower perimeter of the screen I believe. Business card folded in half. Check the other thread. Someone actually posted pics of how he did it.

No problem is so formidable that you can't just walk away from it

you know since i have had the storm i have had that little piece of paper under the battery.. a day or two ago i decieded to take it out just to see how bad the clicking was without it.. To my suprise it was exactly the same now i know it wasnt as good when i first installed the piece of paper but i know now i have no need for it mine clicks verrry well without need of the paper so my thoughts are that it just has a breaking in period.. anyone else experiance this?

All it does is it "pushes" the battery harder against the backpane of the device so when you press down along that area it becomes more responsive. I have never had a problem with that side of the keyboard (when in landscape mode some people had problems getting the letter A to type) so the fix doesn't apply to me. However I did try it and I had a hard time getting the battery back in place (because of the added thickness of one card).

yup, dcpuser, sandwich it in between the battery and the phone and see if that makes a difference.

Slightly loosening the 2 T6 screws works better.
