Just got and applied mine a few days ago, I'd say the IS screen protector is a must have, the rest is up to you. I bought the full kit, but ended up removing the 2 side pieces because I like the rubbery grip better, but the rest I kept and I love it!

I don't like the fact invisible shield causing orange peel on the front.
im using sgp shield this is like invisible shield for the back and power support for the front..
i think sgp is the best for those touch screens..

I can't stress this enough: take your time applying it!

I've used Invisible Shields on my PSP, Curve, 8830, iPod Touch, my wife's iPhone, and my Storm. Make no mistake: these things are a ***** to apply! Just make sure you remove the battery and use plenty of the application solution (which is really just soapy water!). Make sure you spray your fingers as well to prevent fingerprints on the skin. Again, take your time! It took me about 45 minutes to get it perfectly applied to my storm, while on the iPhone it took about 2 hours.

As for the orange peel effect, you guys are doing something wrong. I was loading some apps on my boss's Storm (which has no Invisible Shield) and had it sitting next to my Storm on my desk. The only way I could tell them apart was by checking the battery cover, because the two screens were identical.

I have used IS on 3 different products now. An ipod touch, my previous BB Pearl, and now the storm. After installation, I thought it looked terrible on my Storm. I was frustrated about how it looked. After all, I want to show off my latest a greatest tech gadget! I gave it a couple days now, and it looks much better! I now can hardly tell it is on, so I am much happier about it, and feel a lot safer. I think over time it looks better. The mild heat from the phone must help.

If you paid $4 then you didn't get an InvisibleShield.

Also, like the above poster says, it's not gonna look perfect at first. Bubbles and small imperfections will work themselves out after a couple of days.

Pricey for just a screen cover, but does a great job keeping prying eyes away as well.

Got the whole phone kit on Monday.

Here's the post-mortem:

The shield has this orange peel texture to it, which is not very flattering to the phone. I took my time applying it, but even the screen had this, so, I removed it from the screen after letting letting it set and verifying that it was not going to go away, and left it on the rest of the phone (did not apply the side pieces).

I do like the fact that the bottom is rubbery now, and the phone doesn't slide around as easily as before.

Now the top/bottom plastic phone pieces are protected (the screen is glass, so it is extremely difficult to scratch - I just wanted extra protection, but the orange peel texture was a huge turn off).

Overall, it's a good product that looks like it will protect any piece of hardware (if you don't mind the textured look).

Is the IS removeable? I have read a couple of posts on mac forums about the shield removing paint from iphones after just 2 days of being on the phone. Has anyone attempted to remove one after installation on a storm? Thanks.

I removed mine from the one I sent back to Verizon and was able to use most of it (everything but the button and camera protectors) on my replacement. No visible damage to the old one.

did you get full body protection or just screen protection? How does it compare to the film that it already comes with?

Ok, thanks for the info. Since the IS is said to be "rubbery" and keeps your phone from sliding around (the back/ side pieces), does the screen protector act the same way and make it difficult to slide your fingers up/down the screen? I like the idea of having full protection for the storm, but it seems like there are a lot of negative reviews out there. I guess it's currently the only choice for full body protection of the storm.

Sliding on the screen just feels different. Doesn't impede sliding your finger on the screen. You'll forget what the "old" screen felt like in about 5 minutes.

I just bought some of the Verizon/BlackBerry screen protectors. It fits perfectly, and made sure there were no air bubbles. When people see/hold/use my phone, they don't even realize it's on there, lol.

EDIT - Oh, and I bought the silicon "body" protector from Verizon/BlackBerry as well - highly recommended.
