Default Wireless .75 Upgrade - WOW!

Please Login to Remove!

As a newbie to Blackberry I was facing the option of using the software to upgrade my Storm with trepidation. However, I turned on my phone Sunday 12/7/08 and noticed a "Wireless Upgrade" icon on my screen. I thumbed the icon and was advised it would take up to 2 hours to complete.

I sat with my phone in hand and was back in service in approximately 15 minutes. No error messages or glitches. This is no exaggeration. This is a 20 minute procedure at most.

.75 fixed everything I took issue with with the execption of the camera application. The camera still lags and is a cumbersome application. Sad that Blackberry would fall short in this area. I have had much less developed phones that could snap and send photos on the fly and I definitely miss that capability. I definitely hope someone soups this application up.

The keyboard now allows quick SMS typing, transitioning to landscape view happens quickly, and the phone operation in general sped up noticeably.

Verizon definitely made things easy with the wireless OS upgrade option. But they have always pushed updates wirelessly to my other phones without a hitch. Guess I had a good reason to forgo the iPhone and hang with VZW. If they tweak the camera application, this unit will be perfect.

I am absolutely thrilled with my Storm.

Good news!

As word spreads, this should help the secondary early adapters make their buyinh decisions before Christmas.
