Another upgrade already? Geez, the phone just came out a couple of weeks ago. Try having an 8830. Just about every device has an official 4.5 OS available. We have been waiting for an OS upgrade for MONTHS!

You may want to find another device.
It's not "our" fine product. No one here is associated with Research In Motion.
You may not be happy with a brand new device.

As its been stated above, another os revision will NOT be coming out anytime soon. You should have known that before you went ahead and purchased a BRAND NEW device. Its known.... that if technology was only recently released to the public, that not all of the device flaws have been resolved. Its known that no matter what the instance, testers will not always be able to reproduce problems in the labs.

It should be satisfying enough that RIM issued an update for their newest phone this quick into the game.

Rustproofcorn is on to something. Don't get me wrong I'm very happy that BB put out, and VZW sent us, an update a week after release. But, how can you release a "Phone" with so many bugs? Lab testing? Come on. Anybody who tested the phone for more than 5 minutes learned that it was slow in some functions. I have noticed a lot of people have mentioned the bug in the phone app where you press answer, either the hardware button or touch screen, and the phone mutes for a second then goes back to ringing. You sometimes have to press it two or three times before it will hopefully answer. Now there is a flaw that makes the unit barely functional. Or is it more an email device, and less a phone?

We have somehow come to expect to receive buggy products from manufactures, and I think that's tragic. If the first generation doesn't work the consumer should turn their back on V.2. But no, we continue to plop down our hard earned dollars to be the beta testers for companies.

Don't get me wrong I really like my Storm. But an update to square away a couple of functionality issues would be good. New features, add-ons, ehh... But functionality should win out over pride. We gave them our money, they owe us a functional product.

And Apple has had four versions of iPhone software in two months, and at least two new versions of iTunes. Does that mean they didn't test?

They didn't test enough. They didn't seed enough devices.

All new products have bugs. In the rush to market, and trying to keep their products "secret", manufacturers do not test thoroughly. Is that wrong? Clearly. They should all be foreced to attend Six Sigma training.

And the only way around it is to NOT buy a new product as soon as it comes out. Remember, all the pioneers are dead on the prairie.

But I didn't give Apple my money. And the best I know the product's functionality wasn't fixed with an update. Mostly security and other under the hood stuff.

Plato is dead too. Just in case you were wondering.hehehe
