Well I got my storm last week and just returned from 6 days in Cancun. I'm happy to say the storm worked perfectly. I called Verizon's international department before I left and they were happy to help me unlock the storm, so don't pay for it.

When I got to Mexico, I switched it through the connections manager to gsm and put a prepaid telcel sim card in it. Worked perfectly. Calls sounded just like I was home, showed telcel gsm network on the screen.

Verizon offered unlimited data and email for $1.29 a day while I was gone, so I switched it back to cdma to get my data and use messenger. Overall, I was happy to have it with me, now if the dang video camera would work after I put the new firmware on it, I would be happy.

Nice! The big question for you is <drumroll>: could you use GPS?

That is great to hear that you had such good luck with your phone. I am planning on going to Mexico in a couple months, $1.29 for email and data is very reasonable.
