Took my Storm in after a week of frustration. Had the new update (.75) on it, but the screen just wouldn't rotate properly, probably 25% or more of the time. Stuck on landscape, stuck on portrait...on and on. I even took a video of the issues.

So the sales rep suggested I swap the phone out, give it another chance. I did so. After he set it up in the store he gave it to me, same thing with the orientation issues. It didn't work all the time, every time. He took it back and held it upright, and it seemed to work well. He suggested that you had to hold it upright for it to work properly, which I didn't buy as legit but gave it a shot. I literally played with the phone for another 10 minutes, and even in upright mode it tended to get "stuck."

I looked at him, thanked him for his time, and said "take this phone back. I'll take a Curve." Coming from a MOTOQ the curve is amazing, much better for what I use phones for.

I had gotten better at typing on the Storm, but with the curve keyboard I'm back to lightning speed again. The Storm was nice, but it didn't work every time all the time the way it should. I have neither the patience or desire to wait around for a "potential" fix either.

Currently I'm happier than a pig in sheot. Love my new Curve, even if it is older technology!

I too have a Curve after a terrible experience. I got the Curve and have had a pleaseable time being able to send email/text/SMS/MMS without the ohone shutting off. Glad I made the right decision.

I loved my Curve, but I do enjoy my Blackberry More

For browsing the web the Storm IS far superior....however that is something I rarely do when mobile. When I do access sites, they are for specific reasons only (news/banking) and both have mobile site which work well.

Too bad. Had you killed your event log, you would have solved your problem.

I tried it all, including that. If it were only that simple. The Storm has issues, which make it NOT 100% reliable, bottom line. And why should one have to kill logs, or change settings to make a phone work properly? Shouldn't it work regardless of what settings are logged into the device?

Regardless, like I said, for what I use it for (primarily email/text) the curve suits me better. I'd love to see someone type as fast on the iphone or storm as they do on the curve. Impossible.

Were you trying to rotate the screen with the phone's back parallel to the ground (ie. on a table)? If you were, that was your problem.

Not everyone is having issues like yours, I have 2 storms here and couldn't be happier with them, and knowing that the OS is just going to get better is a plus.

Not everyone can hang on the cutting edge.....

Curve to Storm: Much happier!

I've had Blackberries since the pager-size 5700 days, and the Storm is my favorite so far.

Of course there are still a few bugs that need to be fixed (and should be on future software releases), but the more I use it, the better it becomes.

Curve to Storm and I'm much more happier. There are some things that I miss but I love the Storm!

Why are these haters coming on the Storm side talking about the Curve?... Been there done that! meaning the Curve, I've moved on! I don't go to the Curve side talking about the Storm!

I went back into my Curve after trying the Storm out for a few days. I'd say the lag between clicking something and the software responding is about the same on both devices, but at least with the Curve I was certain I actually clicked it and that the phone would respond once it 'caught up'. With the touchscreen I was never sure, and thought I didn't click it right or something (a legitimate problem with the Storm in its own right, especially when clicking near one of the corners), and would click again, only for the phone to register two clicks once it caught up. And yes, I was using .75 and did the business card trick.

The thing is just slow, slow, slow. I'm very much a poweruser - I work for VZW and I have about 20-30 coworkers that all also carry Berries, and we're constantly using BB messenger, and I'm texting, emailing, etc, and using the browser, so I'm constantly switching between apps. I'll start loading a page, have a message come in, hit my softkey which is tied to the app switcher, switch over to messenger, fire off a message, switch back to the web page. (Should mention that I almost exclusively use Opera Mini.) I can do all this very quickly, almost in my sleep. With the Storm, I'd start loading the page, and be able to tell a message was about to come in - the hourglass timer thingie would pop up, the phone would slow down, and then would come the alert tone/vibrate. I'd hit the task switcher, wait, it would appear, I'd swipe my finger to move through the apps, wait for it to catch up, click the bbmessenger icon, and it would slowly materialize pixel by pixel... okay, i'm being a bit hyperbolic, but you get the picture.

Then there was the annoyance of autorotation while laying on my side in bed using browser

I now want an updated Curve with a faster processor and memory, like the Javelin, only with EVDO Rev-A.
