I don't know why you're messing around with those numbers. It has nothing to do with unlocking the GSM side of the device.

Just put a foreign SIM card in the device and power it up. The BlackBerry should recognize the foreign SIM and then prompt you for the subsidy unlock code.

If you don't have a foreign SIM yet, then do this:
Options > Advanced options > Sim Card
Type MEPD (You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing)
Type MEP2 and you should be prompted to "Enter Network MEP Code".
Type in the unlock code

Yeah, the device is locked. That's what 'Network - Active' means on the top screenshot.

On that screen, type MEP2 and you should be prompted to enter a MEP code.

There's no set rule for how many digits it is.
You only get 10 tries to enter it correctly.
If you enter it wrong 10 times, then the device is locked forever and cannot be unlocked.
You might want to double-check to make sure that code you received is correct before proceeding.
I've never seen a code with ## symbols in it. It's usually only numbers.

You guys are confusing the codes

The ##subsidy code is what allows you to manually change the CDMA settings (6 digit number).

The Network MEP code is a 16 digit code that unlocks the GSM side of things.

Do NOT try codes posted by other members as every unlock code is linked with IMEI, trying wrong codes on your handset could result in blocked code counter and not possible to unlock via codes.

Please talk to forum sponsor HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center He can advise you. Telus codes are near impossible to get.

Codes are based on phones - every code is a "wrong code" if it's not for the device you get the code for.

I received mine from Verizon after asking nicely. The MEP code is 16 digits but once again specific to each device. Not specific to a SIM card, btw, since it makes the SIM card irrelevant.
