Default Text Question...Just Curious - 12-15-2008, 07:22 PM

Is there anyway to make the blackberry storm screen turn on, or do something, to notify that you've recieved a text messege? Im jw because once the screen goes dark. and i have my phone on silent. or if i dont hear it ring. i never know if i have a text. is there a way to have the phone visually tell you youve recieved a text (other than the tiny blinking red light...)

thanks!

Try BBAlerts by bbymelsoftware (do a Google search). Version 1.65 has worked on every BlackBerry model I have owned since it came out, including the 8100, 8120, 8220, and now the Storm. It works great, and can be set to display a different color LED depending on the type of message you receive, while the screen stays off. Good luck.

Is there a way for a text to pop up on the screen similar to how the iPhone does it?

My Storm's notification light blinks red (about once every 5 seconds) whenever I have a new email or text message. Might check your options and make sure the notification light is enabled (sorry, don't know where it's located and don't have my phone in front of me).

as both of these only do SMS and E-Mail...and no Missed Calls, MMS, etc.

are there any other aps available that perform a similar function as these? (and preferable free...lol)
