Default Custom profiles, exceptions etc.

On our 8830's I have set up custom profiles for various alerting emails. I used these to create alert exceptions combined with email filters.
The purpose of this was to allow normal mails to process from certain accounts unless a specific string was placed in the subject. The custom string would cause the filter to escalate the email as a LVL1 and according to the custom profile exception a specific pager noise. IE I replaced my pager doing this and others loved the idea.


Along comes the storm.
First no exceptions under the custom profiles. WTf did they do that for.
Second I created a base filter for a contact address and had anything from that user forward as a lvl 1. When that message comes in I get the base email sound and not the lvl 1 for the current profile. Is there something borked with filters and forwarding as lvl 1?

Any ideas on how to implement the same structure on these devices?

While this does seem to be true there is not a section is entitled exceptions, you still have the same functionality. The only pain in the ass is you have to make your own profiles and edit them accordingly. Because I am doing something similar, but I had to create an work profile to do this. That way when my level 1 messages are escalated when I'm using this profile I get the identifying sound.

Hmm, I tried this and the email still alerted on regular VS lv1. I will have to fiddle more next week on this.
