After hours of getting my Blackberry to sync to my office via BES Professional, I learned a little more about Blackberry's. Apparantly they only sync with your inbox - which is fine. But here's my question:

Up until last week, I had about 600 messages in my inbox. I moved most of them to their appropriate Saved Folders, but none of them deleted off my blackberry. Apparantly, they only delete off my blackberry if I "DELETE" them from my inbox...

Is there a way around this? I never delete anything (unless it's spam) from my email... and I'm kind of a neat freak so seeing my blackberry with hundreds of messages kinda drives me nuts...

I'm not sure if Folder Redirection is available with the Professional software but in the enterprise versions of BES there is an option under the users account to enable synchronization of folders that are under their Inbox. Or, on your Blackberry, open your Inbox; got to Options; Email Settings; hit the menu button and select Folder Redirection to see the folders.

I'm still a little confused... I guess I don't understand Folder Redirection... When I go to my Options on my blackberry and see folder redirection, it only has a blue check mark next to Inbox and Sent... if I check them all, then everytime I move a message in Outlook from the inbox to another folder, it will delete off my blackberry.... I don't need to see all my other folders...

If you see the messages being "deleted" from your Blackberry then they are probably being moved to the appropriate folders on your Blackberry. On your Blackberry open your Inbox and click the options button; select the View Folder option; you should see your folders listed. Open one of the folders and see if there are any messages in it.

Was my thought process correct in thinking that when I move an email from my inbox on Outlook to another folder, it wouldn't erase off my blackberry because technically the email wasn't erased??

So in essence, the blackberry doesn't "sync" per say to your inbox... it syncs to your inbox, deletes items from your inbox if you delete them from your blackberry and vice versa but doesn't delete if you merely "move" the message in outlook...

There is a difference between a delete and a move. A Blackberry can be configured to delete from the handheld and the desktop, and vice-versa. You can also configure a Blackberry so that when you move a message from your Outlook Inbox to a folder under your Outlook Inbox, that message will also be moved to an identical folder on your Blackberry. It's not deleted. Just moved to a like folder on your Blackberry. Did you check your "View Folder" option on your Blackberry to see if the same folders that are listed under your Outlook Inbox are present on your Blackberry? Again, I'm not sure if the Professional version of Blackberry has the option for Folder Redirection.
