Default New Storm Owner with a Noob ?

Hey I got my new Storm (I am transitioning over from previously using a Palm Treo) and I am trying to get it activated at work.
I have been asked what I am sure is a really basic ?, but I cannot seem to find the answer.
I was asked to provide the ESN number. I was instructed that it is an 11 digit number with numbers only and would be makred as ESN DEC under the battery.
I see no such 11 digit number.....any advice?

i also think the esn number is behind the battery

Thanks! There does not appear to be an 11 digit number there but there is a "MEID (dec)" and a "MEID (hex)" I have passed these numbers on and will see if that is the info they need.

There are some numbers behind the battery but nothing that is 11 numbers that is referred to as an "ESN number", at least not that I have noticed.

esn or meid number will work to activate the phone
