My Storm sometimes lets off an electrical current while charging the device. Its not always, just sometimes.
And I get shocked while holding it while its charging. The device is not damaged at all and has no water damage or anything.

How would i go about getting a replacement?


I do have insurance too.. and I haven't even received my first Verizon bill yet.





also, the device has very minor scratches on the back mainly on the back removeable cover and a little mark on the rubber bumber. Would this be a problem?


I'm also thinking theyre just gonna give me a different USB cord or something. Is there a way to ensure i get a NEW phone?

Since its a new device, I wouldn't see why not. Call VZW and tell them what's going on.

Do they send me a replacement first? or i have to send my phone first?

Well if you go into the store its a one for one swap right there but if they mail you one they send you the replacement and then you have to mail the old phone right back.

I just called they said to go into the store and get it changed. since im still within 30 days i should have no problem.

Just ring virezon and ask them! or tell them I should say, that you want a NEW phone!

btw - I went to the Verizon store today because my screen went out. They didn't have any Storms in stock and he checked every store in a 100-mile radius and couldn't find any in stock anywhere. They ended up having to call Verizon hardware support and have them overnight me a replacement. They told me to just send mine back within 10 days in the box the replacement comes in. I doubt many places will have any Storms in stock right now with Christmas and all, so you might have to call and get them to cross-ship.

Before you go in to the local store, give them a call to see if they have any replacements. I know in our store we don't have any phones at all, and that could very well be the case at a store near you.

I wouldn't think so. I picked up my Storm on Thursday night. Spent all weekend getting it set up the way I liked it. At work on Monday, dropped it on the concrete...DEAD. Stopped back into Verizon and they replaced it with a new one, no questions asked. That service definitely impressed me.

What I have done in the past with problems (when I had a Pearl) was called verizon customer service because I didn't have insurance. My problems were phone issues, not accidents, and they sent me a replacement no problem! I just had to send back the old unit within 10 days in the pre-paid package. I always had better service calling the 800 number than going into the store. Twice in the past the store wouldn't help me and customer service did, even going as far as calling the store to make them help me.
