Default Icon beneath EDGE on BlackBerry 9530

Please Login to Remove!

This might be a really stupid question but I thought I'd ask anyways. On my unlocked Verizon branded BlackBerry 9530 that is being used on Rogers Wireless I have EDGE displayed below the reception bar indicator. Below EDGE there is an icon that is round and kind of looks like a target and beside it there are 3 curved (semi circle so to speak) lines that kind of look like this: )))

What does that icon mean? Is that the roaming indicator? If so is there anyway to turn it off?

That is your GPS/triangulation indicator. If you go into Options > Advanced Options > GPS you can set your GPS preference to E911 Only and the 3 curved lines will disappear, though this will prevent you from using BB Maps or Geo Tagging of photos.
