Is it possible to select a whole word (to delete, type over, etc)?? I'm new to the BB universe so maybe I'm missing something, but it seems you should be able to select a whole word without having to move the cursor to the end of the word and backspacing every letter.

Any ideas?

Umm, last I looked at my storm, it didn't have a trackball .

I was just looking for the same answer. When I am typing an email or text and want to go back and correct a word, insert etc it is very difficult to pin point and click often taking me several tries to get the right location. Even then most of the time I end up back spacing a lot just to correct one letter because I can't get an exact click back in an sentence.

Is there any easier way or is this just another drawback?

Lol! Welcome to the world of a new device! Messed up on that one! I will go take a peek and see if I can find an answer though!

Can't youtube because I am at the office. Is the post below a component of it?

In a sentence, click the screen where you want the cursor to go. It will probably end up a little to the left, right, up or down from where you actually want it. No worries. Hold your finger still anywhere on the screen (don't click), and after a second the cursor will turn into a black rectangle. Then slide your finger so that the cursor goes exactly where you want it and remove your finger.

Once I learned this, it made all the difference in the world.

I'm glad my post from three or four weeks ago was helpful.

Now, let's take it a step further...

To copy/cut and paste:

Move the cursor to the beginning of the selection you want to highlight using the above method. Then press the blackberry (menu) key and choose "select". Then click on the screen where you want the highlight to end. Again, you will probably be close but not exactly where you want it. Just place your finger lightly anywhere on the screen (don't click), and the cursor will again change to the hollow square, just as before. Then just slide your finger until the highlight ends exactly where you want it. Go to the blackberry (menu) key and choose either "copy" or "paste".

Try it. It's simple.

I've seen people saying you should "bracket" two fingers over the selection, but it has been too inaccurate and frustrating for me. Once I figured out the above method, copy and pasting became a breeze.
