Have you already tried using the blackberry desktop software... If not it should have came on a CD with your phone or you can go to BlackBerry - Desktop Software - BlackBerry Desktop Software at BlackBerry.com
The desktop software can sync with many different programs that hold your contact information.

  1. Install BlackBerry Desktop manager from the included disc or download from BlackBerry
  2. Connect your BlackBerry Storm and start up BlackBerry Desktop Manager
  3. Wait for the drivers to load
  4. Click 'Synchronize'
  5. On the left hand side, select 'Synchronization' under 'Configuration'
  6. Click the 'Synchronization' BUTTON
  7. Now configure your contacts, memopad, address book, and tasks to whichever programs that are installed on your computer

Default BB desktop battery drain?

if you hook your phone up viz the sync cable before the phone's battery has fully drained will it suffer 'memory effect' like other types of phones or is it more like an mp3 player with its resistance to it? thx

I"m having this problem as well, but my contact list is with VZ on there site. I have the back up assistant, but I don't see how to download it to my BB 9530.

Thanks,

Bullitt

If you hook up your phone, via the USB cable, it doesn't matter if the phones battery is half charged or not. It will actually charge your phone while you are connected via USB.

Not very familiar with Verizon's backup assistant, but I had a user have issues getting it to work with their storm today. I directed them to Verzion support and they were able to get it working for them.
