I experienced the same problem and when I upgraded to the official Verizon 4.7.0.75 it was fixed. It also happened when I used the auto/off and on feature.

Mine kind of comes and goes. I am using the auto-on and auto-off feature and have noticed that if I interrupt the cycle in some fashion it sometimes does that. I have .75 and it still does it occasionally.

The only situation that i can think of that will result such need to restart connection is you recharge your device when the battery reaches almost empty (symbolize as red and empty). Usually in this state the device will say "Battery too low for radio use" (or something similar) and then the system automatically turn the radio and bluetooth off.
Even if you recharge, I found the device won't automatically turn it back on and we have to turn it on through the connection panel.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,

Joel

no its not that...i know what you guys are talkign about...but it's not just after charging or after auto on/off...it seems to happen everytime the phone is idle...
i've been having this problem for maybe 3 weeks now...
i have to reset my connection everytime i go into a low service area and my phone hits 1x...for some reason it won't shake off the 1x and enter 1XEV even when im in an area with excellent service!

Sometimes it shows 1XEV and doesn't even connect to the internet or send emails...then i have to cycle it a couple times more until it picks it up...really wierd and annoying...

Angry reset radio connection

I have issues with the radio not turning itself back on also. Auto on/off is enabled when this happens. It will turn the phone on but not the radio for network. I have alarms set through the calender and when the AM alarm comes on in the morning it will show a different alarm time than I have set. when my 4:30 AM alarm comes on , it shows 8:30 alarm! and so on. I'm really tired of the bugs! so there is surely a firmware issue. I have had 2 phones and both have done this..... no matter which OS i am running!
