Default GMail Filters

Please Login to Remove!

I debated to post in "How to stop Gmail "Delivered:" messages" but figured its own thread might be good.

Im having trouble with the filters and where exactly to filter. I have my regular gmail account and it gets lots of stoopid mail, not necessarily adds, but too much too keep getting sent to my BB.

I made a 2nd gmail account for the phone only and began to set up "forwarding" from my contacts list. I fine tuned it to 49 friends and family.

I started doing filters and at about 15 of them it said I was forwarding "too many" I didnt notice till I did all 49 and then saw only the 1st 15 took.

I tried making it "one filter" and add all the contacts with commas and also () but neither would work right.

While Im sure this is more of a question to be directed at GMail, Im just hoping someone else has found a work around already.

Thanks in advance,

I believe you can also create DO NOT DELIVER filters on your BIS account.... so, when gmail forwards a "filtered" message, BIS will not deliver message to device.

Kewlio, thanks for the tip.

I streamlined a few of them by just letting all "@gmail.com" and loosely did some that way, with @aol.com, @mywork.com, and @yahoo.com that knocked down quite a few.

I also re looked over the list and was probably grandiose to think that many folks I knew would be writing important stuff i needed sent to my BB. LOL

(side note)
Your sig cracked me up, you must do some flying.

add a rule in your BIS settings to delete all messages from (yourname)@gmail.com and it will stop the messages. However if you ever need to send something to your phone you need to have another e-mail account set up or you have to log in using m.gmail.com
