I am told my 9530 through Verizon is 3G, however I cant seem to figure out how to use data while I'm on a phone call. everytime I try to send MMS, browse the internet or use Myspace while on a call it says that I'm unable.

Am I missing something? I'd appreciate anyones insight into how I do this

You may not have 3G in your area. If it doesn't say 3G underneath the signal indicator on your phone, then you won't be able to use the browser and whatnot while on a call. Most likely, if you're not able to use data while on a call, your phone probably says 1XEV or EDGE.

Verizon's flavor of 3G is called EVDO ... If you see 1XEV you are on the Verizon 3G Network. As of now EVDO does not support simultaneous voice and data. GSM 3G Think AT&T in the US does support simultaneous voice and data. This is just currently a CDMA limitation. As a side note though, you can still text message while on a call, I hope this helps.

Not Really, the Storm is a Global Phone meaning that it supports 3G in europe. So it is correct, when it say's 3G = Simultaneous Voice & Data and 1XEV = High Speed Data ... 1XEV is our only option on the Verizon Network.

You mean when using a Verizon Storm while roaming in Europe? Gotcha.

With all phones you can't do internet browsing or MMS while on the phone.
When you are in a phone call you are connected to the 1xRTT service so you can send a text because a text uses 1x to send and receive.

The MMS and internet browsing uses 3G services and the cellphone can only connect up to 3G or 1X not both at one time.
