Default OS vs Firmware vs Service Books

Please Login to Remove!

I need someone to learn me. When I connect to Blackberry Desktop Manager, I think the update feature allows me to update my firmware (on Blackberry Desktop Manager (it says I have currently at v4.7, indicated as bottom left). Is that correct?

In order to update my OS, I guess I need to go to either Blackberry or Verizon web page when updates are available. Correct?

As for service book updates, not sure how to go about getting the most up to date ones.

So far, my Storm has worked pretty well since I got it in mid December, altough I am still having to double, triple or quadruple click icons at times to get them to respond. I am hoping that the next official update will improve things.

You're running DM version 4.7, that is correct. That will update your Desktop Manager client. Not the device OS.

To update the device OS, you would need to download and install the OS to your PC, Launch DM and select App Loader.

You can send the service books from your BIS account, register the host routing table, or you could call your carrier and have then resend them to you.

I think "firmware" is referring to the device OS.
