Default Car holders and rubber skins

Please Login to Remove!

I'm thinking of getting a Brodit holder (Brodit BlackBerry Storm Car Holder Mount Catalog) for my new Storm, but want to know if it will work with the rubber skin (Genuine BlackBerry Storm Skin - Black) I'm also planning on getting.

Anyone know if the cradles hold the phone with a skin on?

If not, can anyone suggest a decent holder that will?

Ta
Dan

I tried to view the link but had issues. Not exactly sure what you are in search of, but I bought the seidio innocase II and absolutely love it. It is a hard rubber case but not sticky like the verizon and other silicone cases. According to seidio they are creating many other items that work perfectly with the case intact. I think the site is seidioonline.com. Cheers!

I had to add a space after the www of each link as I can't post links yet. Just remove the space wnd you should be fine

The first one goes to a Brodit Blackberry Storm holder and the 2nd goes to one of the Silicone skins.

As the skin makes the Storm slightly bigger, I'm wondering if the holder will still take the handset, as it doesn't look like it adjusts in size.

"The charging device connects to the PDA automatically when you put the PDA in the holder."

From the looks of the pictures, this is not true. It looks as if you have to plug the little charging cable it the Storm manually. I'm looking for something as well, and found that the Bury Comfort Cradle will actually do that. It is not out yet, but more info is located here: Bury Comfort Cradle Auto Car Kit for BlackBerry 9530 Storm

I have to recommend the Bury Comfort Cradle (THB BURY Comfort Cradle for Blackberry Storm 9530 at MobileCityOnline.com). The are designed to use the external battery connectors to charge the phone without having to plug and unplug the device.

Use the cradle with a Pro.Fit bracket to mount in your car, and you will have a very good setup.

I will have a review of my setup on BlackBerry News (with pictures) in the next week.

Wirelessly posted (8100)

i haven't seen the holster itself, but from experience, holsters that are designed to hold fones firmly don't work with thick skins on the device.
Best way to protect it all the time would be to get urself a Zagg full body shield, install it on all ur fones surfaces, it will work with holsters.
For added protection when not holstered, slip the fone into the silicon jacket.

I use a mount from proclipusa.com for my curve, but it looks like the storm mount is now available. Looks like they have an adjustable one to accomodate a storm with skin. They are a bit expensive, but are worth it imo.

after looking at your original link, it looks like it actually is the same product as proclipusa.com products. the About Us on proclipusa.com says they are the exclusive distributor for Brodit products.
