Well, I took the plunge. I saw the Storm was heavily advertised and didn't look to bad I picked one up last night. It also has excellent service in my house so that's an even bigger plus.

I have a lot of blu-ray's with digital copies. I never had a reason to use them and I wanted to test one out with my Storm. Only problem is the Storm doesn't recognize any wmv files. What is a could converter so I can successfully upload a movie?

I didn't get insurance on the phone. It was another $6 a month but now I'm thinking maybe I should have because if the screen dies...I'll be out of a phone. The rep said I had 15 days to make up my mind. I ordered a belt clip off Ebay for $6 shipped, so at least it will be somewhat safe if I drop it.

I was also curious about how VZ works. I heard you have to pay $10 monthly for it? Is this true? Another question was about the email. It not consistent. Sometimes it takes 10 mins to get an email is this common?

Any other information/tips etc. would be greatly appreciated! I heard this phone had a lot of bugs but that happens. Has everything been cleared up? Do I need to get a firmware upgrade etc.?

Thanks- Mike

sfmarine, the Asurion policy is $4.99 a month but the most important physical damage / loss coverage doesn't kick in until the manufacturer's warranty expires.

Even though there is a $50 deductible - its well worth it if you actually destroy or lose the phone. Another new one for $50 is definitely worth $60 annually.

The VZ navigator isn't worth it and it also slows the phone down considerably. You can buy a GPS program from Garmin for a one time cost or use Google maps.

I have Gmail synced and email services are fast. If you sync with emails through company servers there can be a substantial lag. My wife has hers synced with her corporate email and it lags often. But her hotmail is lightening fast.

For the rest, just scroll through the lower threads and look at the top of the page for the most important thread on keyboard settings.

Enjoy that Storm! On my second one and the newest model runs like a top with all the fixes on .75. I am fine without the betas.
