Default SmartDialing on Storm

Please Login to Remove!

In my phone options there is a place to put in your "smartdial" prefs, just like in my bb 8330.

My question is, how do I preform a smartdial? On the curve I believe that you dial X + Extension Number and it would dial for you...how do you do that on the Storm???

Thanks in advance.

On the Storm it seems like we can no longer type in letters while in keypad mode. Previously on the 8830, we were able to type in the "x" then the extension number.

The only way I was able to get it to work was by adding the person to my Contacts and then entering the extension in the phone number field (eg. x1234) which kind of defeats the purpose of Smart Dialing...

That's exactly the way to do it, then assign that contact to a Smartdial key.

that is not efficient...and defeats the purpose of "smart dialing".

The closest thing there is to what u referring that I found is adding the person. To a speed dial destination 1-9 and then u just press and hold that number and bam it dials.

Hopefully this changes in a future OS revision...in the meantime, my Contact list keeps growing, and growing.
