Default New Storm New Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Got rid of my faulty curve, and got a storm.

I'm loving the storm aside the fact that I have to experience 5-6 battery pulls a day. I've documented 14 since I bought it two days ago.

Apparantly I have the latest software offered by telus as well, so what should I go about doing to get my storm to treat me better?

Maybe try one of the new beta's out. The latest that I am aware of is.99. I have been running it since it came out a week or so ago and it has been flawless. I am on VZW and not familiar with Telus. I am assuming that any Storm can run a RIMM OS.

I am currently installing .99 software. Took a while to find a working link but I'm almost done updating! I hope it works! This phone will be the total package if it didn't have these flaws

how long does it usually take to update the os? my storm is on the 2nd last step "waiting for device initialization" and the storm has a little square clock going in circles for the past 10 minutes.

hmmm it seems as thought these phones have a tendency to have more issues when they are built in one place more than the other I wish we could document it and see which factory has the issues

I can't say i have had any issues with my Storm. From the get go with .76 OS it worked fine. Then i updated to .99 and the only issue i really had was my MSN would lock up occasionally and battery life seemed to have been reduced. I just updated to .103 earlier today and so far zero issues.

Dave,

try a couple things.

#1 Clear your event log

#2 Activate "Memory Cleaning" under: Options > Security Options > Memory Cleaning

#3 Tweak your keyboard settings - see the thread on the top of the page for ideas

# 4 After all that do a fresh reboot - battery pull

If after a day of use the phone is still running terribly then I suggest a warranty exchange.

+1 All good suggestions.

FYI, to clear your event log:

-Hold your BB horizontally (landscape), from the Home Screen, press the menu button and select Show Keyboard

-Press and hold the !?123 key until the litle lock appears

-Enter "/"/ which will display the Event Log

-Press the menu button, then select Clear Log, select Delete

-Re-hide your keyboard
