hi everyone, i'm new to the world of blackberry and i have what i think may ba a wierd question, well actually two questions. the first issue i have is this: when i am typing with the phone horizontal the keyboard i awesome, especially now that i adjusted the key rate, tap, and hover settings as suggested in another thread. however when i am typing with the phone in the vertical position i am unable to switch from the "auto-complete" text the standard conventional "multi-tap" mode. for instance if i need to type a stock symbol such as "amd" all i can get to come up with is "and". i know how retarded i sound but on all my other conventional phones i was able to toggle back and forth between the two typing methods, am i able to do so now?

question two finally: my gf has a storm also, has all the same settings as mine however she has the opposite problem. her phone will only allow her to type in the traditional mode even though "auto-complete" is turned on. any ideas? thank you for any help you have to offer.

Your girlfriend needs to go to option>screen/keyboard and set the portrait view keyboard to suretype.

When you're typing a message and want to switch to multitap, hit the BB button and then scroll down to enable multitap.

I've got one about typing, in either mode when i click 123 to type numerics, as soon as i've click one number only i'm automatically taken back to the abc! i've gone into the option app and keyboard settings but can't find a solution, any ideas anyone?

If you press and hold the 123 for a second or two you will notice a padlock show up on that key locking the keypad on numerics. Then you just click the "123" key again to unlock it.
