Please Login to Remove!

So, I did a search on this (came up empty) and i didnt see it in the docs from Verizon, but what is the slot on the top of my Storm between the lock and mute buttons?

Thanks

Jeff

I believe it is a speaker, but I am not 100 percent sure on that.

It's a breathing gill. The Storm is really an alien in the form of a smartphone (that's how come it's so smart! Unfortunately for RIM, these little demons have lots of bugs which is why everyone has to reboot a lot)

All kidding aside, I think it's an additional microphone - perhaps for when shooting video?

Dont think its for the holster, cause my silicone case has the cut out for it, and the holster doesn't fit over the silicone case.

I had never put any thought to it. I always just thought it was a speaker, but now that i am trying to listen out of it i dont think it admits much if any sound.

Dude, take your phone out of the case and asnap it onto the holster?

The slot is to snap into a holster or car mount such as the Bury Comfort Cradle, which is an awesome vehicle mount btw http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wire...roductid=24159

In a way i think the gil think is correct you may not notice the heat generated by the screen because of design features im not sure what site i was on but i remeber hearing in the initial design phases it was over heating and frying quite easily the clip part is correct but the reason move of the silicone and hard cases ive seen leave the area open is problem to exhaust heat from the screen and such that would be my guess for a function if there is one or maybe RIM put it there so people like us would say WTF is that for i just found something on my fone and i dont know what it does.

It is most definately for the holdster. If you take a look at it, it will clip into it. The reason that you have it cut out of the silicone case is because there are some clips that you can buy from VZW that can clip with the silicone case on it. So, it is not a guil or any speaker, just a space for the clip.
