Ok so I have looked into and done some research on the software updates for Storm. I am currently on Verizon and it seems the software releases are pretty proprietary to the carriers... maybe?

I am currently running:

v.4.7.0.75 p.4.0.0.94

I went to Vzw and that is the latest software release from them... I am assuming this is the only release they currently support, however I see different releases floating around the web... am I able to put one of these releases on my phone?

I understand it may void the warranty, and may not be stable (I am an IT admin... I have a decent understanding of software ect.)

Will the new OS allow my phone to work on VZW network?

OS upgrades are proprietary to model ( i.e; a Bold OS wouldn't work on your Storm), but not by carrier. However, what you may be seeing floating around are beta versions of the Strom OS, as well as "official" releases.

To help distinguish which is which, I have posted two links-one that shows the latest offical release information, and one that disucsses beta releases.

Hope this helps clarify somewhat!

Latest OS: 9530: 4.7.0.109 / 4.7.0.76 From Bell

Those OS's you're seeing are beta OS's. The "will they void my warranty" question is debatable depending on who you ask. I say no, you could always downgrade back to the official Version version.

You can load any carrier's OS as long as it's for the 9530, just be sure to remove the vendor.xml file.
