Everyone, I called Verizon Global support to unlock my phone so I could use other carriers in other countries. It took about 5 minutes and no problems at all.

The question I have is.......is this the type of unlocking everyone talks about on these forums?

Not hacks just the same code you get from Verizon. First it depends on the Verizon rep you get. Also maybe you bought a Storm off of eBay and don't have Verizon service. Verizon would not provide the code in that situation.

Lots of reasons.

The main reason is if they are not a customer of the provider that sold the device originally.

I unlocked mine with Verizon, no problem. I put an AT&T Sim in there and switch back and forth frequently. It is pretty cool!

I called VZW tech support to request unlocking my Storm since I would (maybe) traveling to UK. They asked me for my sim card id and responded that now it is registered on Verizon network for travel abroad. I said I really requested it to be unlock so I could use it on other carrier networks. They said they could not do that since I'm on the VZW nat'l calling plan!!! So what is the trick to get my Storm carrier free??

Try again and don't give up so easily.

can someone get me an unlock code? ive had verizon for bout a month and they wont do it for me
