The short answer is : yes, if you unlock it you should still get your e-mails.

However, before you do this, you may want to think about what level of trust you have with the seller, and is she willing to let you inspect it before you buy it.

$150.00 sounds too good to be true.

The GSM functionality can be-meaning you can unlock it for use on ATT, T-Mobile, or other GSM carriers. The CDMA functionality cannot be unlocked-meaning you would not be able to use it on Verizon, Sprint or other CDMA carriers.

Yep. As long as you have no need for a CDMA carrier.

And as long as it's not stolen. $150 does sound too good to be true. If it's legit, go for it.

Curious, outside of the certain moral implications (and legal) of buying "hot" merchandise... what would the other potential reprecussions of buying a stolen blackberry be? (I.E. could Verizon track you down via IMEI, or PIN?)

If its reported stolen to Verizon they can disable the ESN and the phone can't be used at all. At least that's what I have been told by Verizon.

My first slider got lifted and I reported it stolen. I gave Verizon a police report number and was told the phone could not be activated in the U.S. It was only good for parts.
