i've always hated using bluetooth to connect my phone with my pc for data transfers/etc because i can't configure it right....is there a step-by-step or how-to in order to get the bluetooth connection up and running in vista, and then use dm and the phone via bluetooth instead of USB ?

Does your bluetooth in Vista have the connection capabilities? My laptop does not have built-in BT, so I purchased a dongle. Once it was installed, I figured out that my dongle did not have the correct services to access a lot of features that my BB can dish out. I was disappointed and left to only file transfer :(

so far, i installed all the com ports correctly in device manager, RIM Virtual Serial Port V2, and paired the device with my PC. it appears as connected in the vista bluetooth icon, and my connection on the phone is solid (not intermittent). i also have all the data/connectivity features enabled in bluetooth settings on the phone.

for some strange reason, dm keeps prompting me about the device connecting to dm via bluetooth. it lists the PIN of the device when i have bluetooth connection set in DM. but it keeps prompting every 5 or so seconds. somethings' not right...

...wow...thats a lot farther than I've gotten. Perhaps when I get home, I will give it a try again. Are you using an internal dongle or external. If external, what brand/software are you using. I'm using this Blue Soliel thing that really gets on my nerves. I wish there was a better application that would accept the drivers....

i followed this proceedure, but i'm using dm version 4.6, so im not sure if there's a bug or something...maybe version 4.7 corrects this, but i heard of a problem with application loader when using dm 4.7 to configure the 9530 for use on tmo....

Well, I just tried it again and it worked perfectly. I inserted my dongle and vista home standard installed the drivers right away. Then I went to the control panel and clicked on bluetooth devices and clicked add. I went to my BB Storm, clicked on manage connections, and checked the bluetooth box. Then set up bluetooth and told it to listen.

Back at my laptop, in bluetooth devices, I clicked add and next. It found it and paired it for me. THen in desktop manager, I selected options, connection options, and turned on bluetooth support. Then I clicked configure bluetooth and selected my storm and clicked ok.

After that it all went well. It can sync but just not what is in memory at the time, or something like that....you'll get the error.

Please tell me which dongle you are using! I can't find one that works where the driver will install. I can't get past that step! Thanks so much for your help!
