Default unable to download messangers?

Please Login to Remove!

just got my replacement storm today and im unable to download yahoo and aim applications... saying sorry my device does not meet the requirements that are needed to support yahoo...

same goes with aim...
any help would be great, thanks

just checked it out and its set to Browser identification: internet explorer

i had the same exact same storm and was able to download all of these and it was great, just got this replacement one yesterday (wich i'm sure is the same thing) and im not able too.

93lt1z28,

are you trying to install a back up copy or one of those apps OTA (over the air)?

You may want to try the BB website and select the version made specifically for the Storm. Check the links below and see if they work.

i was going by the aim/yahoo links that came on the home screen by the phone that would redirect me to to the browsers download page, thats how i did it on my last one few days ago...
quite frustrating lol...

Try it on your PC and see if it will send the correct app OTA to your phone.

It's worth a try. It must eventually work because I run both applications on my Verizon Storm 9530.

I will tell you that Yahoo Messenger has bugs. It routinely freezes on me and if I can't power down and back up with the physical key, I have to do a battery pull in order to get the Storm back into operation.

thats what im saying, theres a way to make it work... if i ram em both before on the sae phone.
thats what i tried last, doing it on my pc and emailed me the download link.
eghh ill eventually figure it out... thanks

93lt1z28,

I had difficulty downloading a app with an OTA link. The issue was solved by moving to an area with stronger reception and trying again.

Additionally, if you can't get it to work. I recommend a phone wipe and fresh install. The DM should load the 3rd party messenger programs for you when you sync. It's part of the basic BB bundle. The last time I synced with the DM to perform a backup, it automatically checked for updates and updated my AIM.

You'll get it fixed. I am sure.
