That's not something I would recommend. Eventually you'll start running out of memory, and when that happens, your Blackberry will start deleting things on its own to make room, and it probably won't delete the same things you would.

You can probably keep your call logs forever by backing your BB up to your computer, though.

Thanks for your answer adrokable and I understand your point. But, is there a setting to keep the logs forever on the device.

Thanks

To adorkable's point, one of the first things that your BlackBerry will "eat" when the memory is taxed is...your call logs. Kinda defeats the purpose of saving them.

Best to back them up and save them on your PC.

DD12,

On the older Blackberries, yes, there is a way to do it. I am being told you could press "Alt P" while the call log was up and you could set the duration for as long as you wished. I am searching but unable at this point to find a way to do it on the Storm.

Although the Storm only displays the last 20 calls, there is a way to view all calls for the last 30 days:

1. From your "Call Log" application, click on the 'Menu' button and select 'Options'.
2. From the list of "Phone Options" select the "Call Logging" option for configuration.
3. On the Call Logging screen change the "Show These Call Log Types in Message List" to the "All Calls" radio button.
4. Click the "Menu" button and select "Save." Then exit out to the main menu screen.
5. Now go to your messages list and should be able to see all of the phone call logs in the last thirty days for your Storm. From there open the individual messages to see the details of the call, including the durations.

Hope this helps. I'll keep looking to see if there is a way to set the duration on the Storm. I am sure there is.

Thanks XellhaBB

I did that and like you have mentioned, it only stores the call logs for 30 days.

Please let everyone know, if you find to increase it. I will keep looking too.

Thanks

Found the solution.

Here it is.

To log calls into Messages, go into the phone app (press the green hard key). At the top (under "My Number" ) will be three icons...click the middle one. Then press the BB key (the hard key just to the right of the green phone key) and then Select "Options". Click "Call Logging". Click the "All Calls" radio button. Exit and save.

Now, to save messages in Messages, go into messages (have the list of messages showing). Press the BB key and select "Options". Click "General Options" and then scroll to the bottom...change that setting (Keep Messages) to "Forever". Exit and save.

Thanks

I'd like my call log lists to hold more than 20, maybe 50 or 100, or even the next 30 days, but I hate getting a message icon or a message list item for a missed call. I can already see the notification popup, and I'll see it in the list. It's annoying to have to clear it from the message list, which I've addressed, but I am still stuck with 20 calls in the log.

I not sure this relates to the question at hand but in doing some housekeeping on my Storm I went to clear my entire call log by going into messages and selecting view folder where you can find a folder named Phone Call Log. It had calls logged from last August which is like 6 months before I even got my Storm. I'm assuming that either the backup from the switch device wizard tranferred them or the BES server did it. Funny thing is I always assumed that even on my 8830 it would only keep entries for 30 days.
