To me it is the carrier that comes first, not the device. I would quite like an i-Phone but would no more give my business to AT & T as I would to Hugo Chavez!
Did u just jump from the 8800 forum to come and say that the Storm is "garbage." lol...why?...but anyways...I do agree with u though. Basically u said u can't have everything. I have nothing against the iphone..pretty cool phone...but the Storm is awesome too in different ways...both great phones, aimed at different people. But to say that either or suck or are garbage, can't be justified.

it appears as though this thread has been hijacked from the threadstarter's intent.....

anyway, for all you apple fanboys that enjoyed having bands like U2 sponsored by Apple, take this:

U2 ditches Apple, joins up with RIM : Boy Genius Report

Oh brother! This dead horse is done being beat already!

What's gonna happen when the Palm Pre touchscreen is released?!?

michael12005's comments about the Storm being "garbage" is evidently a baited post. Don't fall for that child's play.

Additionally, he went back to the Curve. I used to have a Curve and wild horses couldn't drag me back to the Curve from my Storm. However, I am not in the Curve forum dogging the phone, that would be rather childish...

Back a few months ago before I bought my Storm, I really wanted an Iphone. But, alas and alack, the ATT signal out in the boondocks where I live is woefully inadequate. Hence, sniffle, I could not get an Iphone. I have had to be satisfied with fondling friends' Iphones when I traveled out of town.

I still want one! But, I will say this: my Storm is just great. It is, hands down, the best cell phone I have ever had since I started using them back in 1997. There are so many features that time and space within these forums do not permit me to list them all. You know, I even use the darn thing as a phone! LOL!!

They're kind of difficult to compare. It's like comparing apples and... well... blackberries.

Default Storm v iPhone

I started the thread - thank you all for your opinions and inputs, especially Jason Stamfield for his factual comparison. I would dispute that the phones are equal on Apps Stores; the iPhone is currentlly streets ahead.

Anyway, I'm happy now - still got my Storm but I've installed the iBerry theme and StormSlider lock, so it LOOKS like an iPhone!

I don't think that either phone is better or worse than the other. It all depends on the needs of the user. My phone is not for entertainment. It is for business and communications, so for me the Storm is a hit. I have friends in large cities who have long commutes to work via public transportation. For them the iPhone is better. If any one phone were perfect, everyone would have the same phone. Purchase the phone that fits your needs. I think the iPhone is very cool, just not for me.

i have a follow up on my stats that i posted....

there is a big difference that is very much worth listing between the iPhone and Storm....it's memory...application memory and RAM memory....

the iPhone currently is a big winner in my book over the Storm because the Storm is very limited for the number and size of applications that can be installed and subsequent performance if you over-install too many apps onto the phone....

the blackberry is advertised as having 1 GB of onboard memory, but this is just for music or pictures or videos....NOT applications...secondly, the microSDHC card cannot store applications without a significant work around by Aerize, but even by using that program, it does not perform by extending all of the storage space for app storage functionality like you would expect or desire...basically you install and uninstall applications as you want to use them...

the iPhone on the other hand balances apps, music, pictures, video with the full 16 GB of storage capability....it is only limited by the "pages" so i have read, but the pages limit is still very large....

in any case, the BB App Store tantalizes you with the potential of having tons of apps and all kinds of functionality, but in essence, you must pick and choose carefully which apps you wish to use and install otherwise you will fill up your Storm rather fast and have no other option available for larger app upgrades, or new and cool apps...

i don't have the exact figures in front of me, but there is about 128 MB of memory for apps on the Storm...and about 20 MB needs to remain free otherwise the phone goes into an overload mode where there is no free memory available for normal function and it gets stuck and you have to do a battery pull...besides that problem, there are some memory leaks that can also lead to the lack of available memory and subsequently requiring a battery pull
