There is a gentleman who works at a mall VZW store who introduced me to the beta OS world and loaded .99 for me. I ultimately loaded .103 on my own and am thrilled with it. He is my main source on which beta builds to avoid.

Today he warned me to stay away from .109 and any leaked version of .112. He gave various reasons for each. Apparently .112 has issues with the camera operation - a function I need often.

According to him March is supposed to be a stellar month for VZW customers with regard to an official OS upgrade release. He also said that RIM is already in the .130's on beta builds. he further advised RIM soared through the .120's due to radio code issues and to only load leaked versions above .130.

During the conversation he mentioned that RIM was close to the "Gold Code" with the Storm. I intended to ask him what that meant however I got sidetracked and forgot to ask.

Anyone have an idea what this means? "Gold Code"?

I would think that "gold code" would be an OS that has been tried and tested thoroughly by the carrier "Verizon" and receives their blessing (ie official release). Much like At&t releasing 4.5.0.110. That version of 4.5 was "gold code" for at&t.

Gold usually means final.

Yep, as it relates to Blackberry devices and computer programming, "gold code" means the final version for release.
