Default OTA Downloader Question

Please Login to Remove!

Why is it that some OTA links will download just fine using the Big Bang OTA Downloader, and yet other known good addresses yield "This is not a valid OTA file?"

The link in question works fine when downloaded from the BlackBerry Browser.

Hello John,

can you give me the link where you have the problem with? i'll check if we can fix this in the next release of the OTA downloader (which will also include a Blackberry simulator, so you can also download from sites which allow only downloads through the blackberry browser).

regards

I PM'd you one link.

In the meantime, I do have a work-around. Download the JAD file on your PC, and open it up in Notepad.

It tells you what additional COD files to download and stick in the same directory on your media card. Look for RIM URL and there are your items.

You have to make sure you grab all of them, and it IS a pain in the ass... but it works

I'm also having the same problems. I like the idea of using it for OTA that would normally be available only on BB Browser.
