Default insufficient network coverage on AT&T

Just unlocked my BB STORM, installed at&t service books and I cannot use the browser, I am getting this error message, insufficient network coverage. The phone works with no issues, AT&T shows up on the screen....does anybody have this problem and know how to fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.

dmjay, how did you install the service books, via the process outlined in the first post of this thread, or simply pushing from your BIS account?

Had the same issue. To correct the number you click the green phone button,
enter ##000000 then hit the green button again , this will open the CDMA menu change the number to yours, then click the menu and save. It will need to reboot to accept the change.

Should see a menu like this:

So I need help.

I followed every step.
I got everything to work.
Then I downloaded a couple games and apps.
I went and tried to install the Appleberry dark theme and I lost my browser.
I've repeated this process several times, only to receive the same results every time.

I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks

Are you sure the browser is lost or just misplaced? Perhaps the AppleBerry theme gives you an icon for the browser you just don't recognize and you're overlooking it?

Changing a theme should not have an affect on anything you've done in this process for getting the browser on your unlocked 9530 to ATT or TMobile.

When I click on a link in my email, it says that the browser does not have any service book entries.

I have an unlocked 9500 on ATT.
with OS 4.7.0.173 from Vodaphone.

would it matter if my DM is 5.0?

The version of Desktop Manager has no effect on this.

The key is to fully follow and complete the directions in this first post here.

But judging from your post two up, you still don't have a browser at all.
--did you load the generic ATT service books?
--did you push the ATT service books afterward?

Yeah, I did all of that, but I'll give it one more shot, because maybe I just did it too fast and accidentally skipped something.
I'll update you in a bit.

Now when I first plug in the device, and I haven't even opened the Apploader screen yet, it is asking me to update my "Blackberry 4.7 Core Applications."
Do I proceed and update? Or do I cancel it and just follow the directions?

JSanders, I thank you for your patience and help.
I really had just gone through things too fast prior to tonight.
I think that I got panicky and tried to update the OS on the computer, when I just needed the one that matched my handheld.

A piece of advice for those of you having trouble:
Just slow down and follow these directions exactly as they are posted.

I can't seem to get my browser to show up. On the step where you delete the cod, I don't actually see any indication that it was deleted. When you add it back to the JAVA folder, I don't see any indication that it was readded. My device has yet to reboot during this process. What have I done wrong?

Kim, after you "move" the browser cod file from the JAVA folder, run the App Loader, and you won't see any indication of the removal until the end of the process where it will state that it is removing it, it flashes by pretty quickly, you might not notice it. If the device is not rebooting, you are not actually moving the correct file or something. The directions above are pretty specific, follow them exactly.

Thanks Jsanders for this post!

I am thinking of an unlocked 9530 - coming from Bold.

I'm hoping that I won't downgrade speed too much with lack of 3g and no wifi.

Any thoughts from those who came from a Bold to an unlocked Storm on ATT?

I have that "itch" for a larger touch screen
