I have the Jabra BT530, and if it is off when I answer a call, I simply flick the switch to ON on the earpiece and stick it in my ear. Within 5 seconds the call automatically transfers from phone to earpiece, even in mid-conversation. Check if your BT earpiece has a on-off switch. Put it in your ear (while holding the phone on the other ear) and turn it on. it should automatically transfer the call to the earpiece. The only thing you have to be sure off, is that the earpiece is set to TRUSTED and not PROMPT, otherwise, it will require you to answer a Yes/No question on the phone first, which will be hard to do while you're in a call.
Thanks for this. Since turning on/off from my Plantronics earpiece is touchy, I was wondering if there was a way to keep the Plantronics always on, and just turn on the Storm connection when needed. In the full Storm pdf instruction book, it says during call you can go to Menu and select "Activate Bluetooth device." But I don't see it, regardless of whether I initially enabled or disabled bluetooth device. Any thoughts on this?
That's exactly the issue. Sure you can use your method and select 'Activate Bluetooth'. But this only works if you've Disconnected, not Disabled Bluetooth earlier. (If you don't disable, but for instance just disconnect, the blue light continues to blink which to me means you're draining the battery). So if you want to reduce battery consumption, you want to disable. But then how to you quickly switch from disabled to enabled when you initiate or are in the middle of a call? Or as a newbie, am I just not getting it yet?
Is that actually a known fact or just out of observation? That even though ur bluetooth is not on..but on your Storm it is..that it will drain ur battery much faster than if u had bluetooth disabled?
