Default Restaurant app?

Please Login to Remove!

Alright well I went into Boston last weekend for a show and dinner and the Storm with Google Maps was great. What I missed having thought was an app to show me based on GPS location what restaurants were nearby.

Does anything like that exsist? It would've been really handy.

I had all these loaded and were great if I knew the name / address of a place but I wanted to just scan the area based on where I was and nothing seemed to fit that need.

Where
Blackberry 411
Poynt
GoogleMaps 3.0.2

Thanks!

I've always just searched google maps for "Restaurant" and a whole slew of things pops up, but not necessarily ALL of them.

Wirelessly posted

Beyond 411 will search based on Zip Code and will locate those places nearest you yhen extend out.

It is a very diverse and functional app and is free to boot.

I use Superpages Mobile for BlackBerry® along with Google maps. Superpages app has a "Use GPS Location" option on it . Hope this helps

Poynt does that very thing. Type in "restaurants" and it displays all of them in the area, starting with the closest. Also gives the option to call the restaurant, go to their website if one is available, or to map it (including directions) via your map application.

Default Mobile Apps

Tell Me at is an excellent voice-activated search of your zip code and metro.

Default GPS Application For Restaurants

I would highly recommend Where. You can get it from WHERE™ GPS Mobile Application, iPhone App & Location Based Services Development Platform.

It uses gps for:

Yellowpages.com
Yelp.com - This is where you can get the closest restaurants and reviews.
Starbucks locations
Local Zipcars too.

and more coming. I love this app. Check it out. You will not be disappointed.
