Default Unlocking a Vodafone Storm 9000

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I've just bought a UK Vodafone Storm 9000 off eBay. However, I want to use it on O2. I wonder if anyone can recommend an unlocking service?

I know Horizon Wireless, a bbf sponsor do it, but its CAD$55. Is there anywhere cheaper?

Regards,
Donal

The Vodafone Storm does not have the model number 9000. The BlackBerry Bold does. Which device do you have?

Have you checked with a local shop in the UK?

Sorry - typo in my original posting. Its a 9500. I have asked Vodafone and they won't unlock it as I'm not a Vodafone customer.

True, it makes sense they don't give away products to non-customers

The Voda BB is a European device, it takes a bit longer and a extra $$. You can shop the price around, however i WARN you about credibility and reputation of using an unlocker with little history.

Horizon has a good reputation.

Ok - thanks for the advice. I have never unlocked a BB before, but have unlocked a Nokia and I know exactly what you mean about some of the "providers" of unlocking services! Which is why I wanted to get a recommendation first

In case anyone else is interested. I got my Storm in the mail today and filled out the online form on Horizon. They have a new offer on for CAD$39.90 and you get $5 off with the BBforums discount code! I had the unlock code in my inbox within 15 minutes, and it worked first time.

Thanks you Horizion - and I would definitely recommend them!

I just had mine unlocked for 7. It was on ebay and you had to set up a shared connection and unlock via usb. Took about 30 seconds when connected to the engineer, now I have an unlocked Storm and looking for a decent tarriff.

Good luck
