which model is better for Tmo or AT&T use....9530 or 9500 ? just want some feedback on ppl's findings when using their 9500 with tmo or at&t... i've noticed there are more OS releases available for 9500 models than there are for 9530 models... i'm using a 9530 now with tmo, running .76, so far no real complaints, as i keep the radio set to 2G only, but my patience is wearing thin on the OS i am using because it's sluggish, and trying out some beta's, i have not been very pleased with performance issues, etc... since i don't really plan to go to verizon in the future, perhaps i should just sell my 9530 and go for a 9500 instead ? |
The 9500, absolutely. I have both 9500 and 9530. The GSM-only 9500 requires MUCH less tinkering to keep the EDGE signal in place on reboot or upgrade. I would really recommend the .122 OS for the 9500. It is tops. |

unfortunately 9530 users don't have the 'support' that 9500 users do, wrt OS upgrades.... i am stuck for now, call it eagerness to get the storm, i went and got it from verizon....i should have bought a new 9500 instead.... |

getting into hybrid OS and makeshift ways to install the latest is not something i want to get into, so i'm still waiting for an official release .exe from RIM |
I am running the 9530 on T-Mobile USA with no issues for the EDGE. One hint, once you get on the voice network, call customer service. Ask for the Unsupported Device department. They got me all setup, and my storm has run for 2 weeks in a way that it would if I bought the Storm from the T-Mobile store. I love my 9530, but either way, you'll love the Storm over all the lame offerings that T-Mobile offers now. |
