Looking at Drummer boy's post you can conclude it's not a screen protector but you can use it for that purpose.

It has a very basic screen protector applied at the factory for protection during shipping. It's not made to be a permanent solution as it scratches very easily.

The Storm that I bought at BestBuy in November had a real screen protector installed under the peel-off packing film.

Get yourself some real screen protectors. That thing is like a Colorforms toy. I bought a 3 pack at the Verizon store for $9.99 and I'm still on the first one, with no issues at all. 3 months now.

They aren't the most fun to apply, however...

The screen protectors sold for the iPhone and iPod Touch would perfectly fit on the Storm.

In order to avoid bubbles, you have to put the protector as fast as possible. Make sure no dust particle is on the surface. What I do is almost like gently dropping the protector into the screen from the side, then use a hair dryer on it to make the plastic warm and soft. When the plastic cools it would harden to the surface.

I personally liked the 'factory screen protector' until it scratch heavily by some keys. I tore it off and used nothing for some days and loved the feel and vivid colors of the screen. I succumb to my paranoia after a few days though and put a Zagg screen protector on it and can't say I'm real impressed. The Zagg takes a long time to dry and leaves the screen with a rubbery feel (tough to slide fingers around quickly for typing IMO). I'm debating taking it off and going commando again, I figure the phone is already getting a bit ugly after 3 falls from my holster on to concrete and ceramic tile. Each time it fell it ejected the back door and battery like it was an escape pod for an F-22 pilot. The 3rd time it actually separated the casing in the upper corner (popped back together though) and with a few battle scars it still works good.

There are a number of posts on screen protectors and the the argument on whether this screen even needs a protector pretty well beaten to death in this forum. YMMV tho.

Interesting thing happened to me after I read some of the posts. I went clawing around on my screen and pulled off layer after layer of "factory" screen protectors. There were a total of 6 on there! Has anyone else encountered this? Also, I just applied a Zagg protector to my screen. I really hope that the bubbles work themselves out like the instructions indicate. I tried the Verizon brand protectors and they were horrible for me.

If you have bubbles, you basically fudged your application process. Not that you should know this but I encountered the same situation on the back of my Storm. I just pulled it off and tried again.

I still have the factory screen protector on my screen. But the thing is definitely showing overt signs of wear. It's about time for me to apply the PS (Phantom Skinz) screen protector.

I am not a big fan of ZAGG on the Storm because I am a pocket carrier. I have ZAGG on my iPod and if it gets near my gym bag the thing becomes a lint bunny. However, I found a fix for the lint / rubbery touch issue with ZAGG. It takes a little patience but a couple applications of car wax will remedy the lint magnet aspect. Apply and buff off several times and your phone can be carried in the pocket for quite some time before you need to re-wax it. It also becomes rather slick. I don't mind doing it on my iPod but I definitely wouldn't want to do this for my Storm, which gets a lot more use.
