Default Application Memory

Is there any way to adjust the default allotted memory capacity for applications?

Currently, I have 190KB of Free Space. My Device Memory has 870.2MB free of 879.2MB.

Even Memory Cleaning and Battery Pulls don't give me that much any more, and while I do have some apps installed, I haven't even begun to start purchasing useful apps to use my Storm to it's fullest extent.

I only save the ringtones and wallpapers I'm using to device memory...all other media is saved to my SD card.

With all of this free space, I should at least be able to dedicate another 100MB to Application Memory to avoid reaching that threshold, no?

Move all your media files to the SD card. That is what it is there for - including ringtones and wall paper.

AFAIK, you can't tinker with memory allocation.

Now that I've moved my wallpaper and ringtones to my SD card, after a memory clean and battery pull, I still only have 1.0MB free of app memory. Doesn't that seem a bit low?

1MB seems very low.

Are you talking about Application RAM or Free Memory?

Either way 1MB is extremely low and your phone would be crawling/crashing.

How many apps do you have installed?

Or better yet how many do you have running ? If you don't exit out of them by using the close or exit option they will continue to run in the background .

1MB is VERY low. Consider going through this thread to see if it clears things up: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

Thanks for your valuable input.

I do believe your question "Is there any way to adjust the default allotted memory capacity for applications?" required a Yes or No answer...

Alright, when I read these recent posts, I had 69 apps in the app list, along with these stats:
Free App Memory: 1.5MB
Free Device Memory 874.7MB

The apps I've installed are as follows (Note: the only originally-installed app I've uninstalled is VZ Navigator):

BB App Store
Appetite
BBFileScout
BBLight
*BerryScreenCleaner
BerryTorch
Beyond411
BB App World
Blip Plus
CaptureIt
CNBC Bold
CNN
*CoinToss
CrackBerry
DopeWars
ESPN Mobile
Facebook
FaceCall
Flycast
*FMyLife
Gmail
GoogleMaps
iheartradio
Labyrinth
*Lightsaber
miaPuzzle
NewYorkTimes
NobexRadio
*NuckChorris
Poynt
QuickPull
screenlock
*shotGun
Slacker
StormFu
StormPiano
StormSketch
*StormSlider
Talklater
*TicTacToe
Tiltris
Time
Trapster
Viigo
VyMail
Weatherbug
Where
Youtube

After uninstalling the asterisked apps (8) and running a memory clean, my Free App Memory is at 5.9MB.

Then after a battery pull, it's at 16.4MB.

Bulgaro: I frequently close apps that I'm not using, especially GPS apps.

What is the Free App Memory that some of you have? How many apps do some of you have installed? I'm sure I'll install a few more apps in the weeks to come...

Thanks everyone for your input.

My free application memory is 22.2MB, I have 56 applications installed . The lowest memory I've had , has been 6.5MB doing a battery pull every 2-3 weeks if not longer.
